Do you find yourself in a vicious cycle of losing weight then gaining it back again? That’s what we will be discussing today! I’m going to go over my 23 top tips on how to lose the weight and keep it off once and for all.
Let’s just be honest. Losing weight is a frustrating process, and I know for me, after my injuries, I had 30 more pounds on my petite frame. I’m only 5’3″, so it was a lot of weight for me.
When I looked at it and just helping with so many clients, there’s two main things that are probably the most struggle. It’s the beginning 10 to 12 days of really implementing a program, and then it’s the last 10 to 20 pounds. How do you get that off?
What I want to do is go over some top tips today. I want to share these top tips that can help you so you can lose weight and keep it off. The question of having sustainability and not just to get your goal, but how do you sustain it over time, or what I call “maintainance?”
#1. You want to have specific goals with action steps. It’s not just saying you need to lose weight. It’s how much weight specifically do you need to lose and what do you need to be doing daily, weekly to be hitting that goal?
#2. Hydrate with water, not soda, not coffee, water.
#3. Portion control at every meal.
#4. Eat your last meal, 3 to 4 hours before you go to bed.
#5. Learn how to stabilize your blood sugar, which I love to educate about.
#6. Eat slowly and chew your food. You want to pulverize your food.
#7. Eat whole foods, mostly vegetables.
#8. Plan your meals and workouts in advance.
#9. Drink freshly juiced green vegetable juice.
#10. Eat good fats in moderation.
#11. Walk more, exercise more or just get movement.
#12. Get enough sleep consistently.
#13. Stress reduction and self-care, learning about it and implementing it.
#14. Bring your snacks wherever you go.
#15. Clean out your pantry of junk food or foods you crave.
#16. Add fiber. You want to get 35 to 50 grams of fiber a day.
#17. Read food labels or nutritional labels.
#18. Learn about healthy substitutions, which I love to educate about.
#19. Cut down on alcohol, which is sugar.
#20. Limit excess sugar and excess salt.
#21. Work with a health professional or group and to have a support team to help you stay accountable.
#22. Keep it simple, not complicated.
#23. Have strategies on how to be consistent. We got to be hitting it consistently, and find out what is it to sustain and to have a sustainable lifestyle!
