Why “Slowing Down to Speed Up” Is My #1 Piece Of Advice

I want to share my number-one piece of advice with you that I tell all my clients in the beginning. It is slowing down to speed up.

This is so important. Many times, we just want to jump ahead, but we need to slow down. Especially if things aren’t flowing and we’re not in alignment to our center.  We need to look at the root cause of what’s going on.

A lot of times, we’re really focused on the gross results. We’re focused on the outcome. Instead, we need to take it way down and look at the details. What are those first steps that are creating what’s going on or the result that you want?

Also, we need to look at strategy and mindset. Mindset is such a big thing. We want these goals that we’ve set for our life. But what is our mindset? What are our thoughts? How are we setting things up? What does the mind-body connection look like? Are your thoughts, emotions, actions, behavior, and words in alignment?

All of those things together create clarity and we really need to have that. In order to have clarity, we have to slow down. We need to figure out how we define things and the meaning we put on life.

When we slow down, we can see all these things that are going on. Maybe we need to expand our filter or lens and see it from another view. I look at it a lot of times like a horse with blinders. We only see that there’s one way. We have to take off those blinders and see all the opportunities we have. This saves a lot of time.

If we’re just thinking that there’s only one right way, we waste a lot of time. In slowing down, you are going to save so much time and be able to speed up because you have the right strategy. You’re executing, taking action, and following through.

Another element here is making sure that you have a commitment involved. Once you’ve done a more in-depth process of goal setting or intentions, it’s making sure that you’re 100% committed. If you’re not committed, what needs to shift?

Also, learning the basics. When we want this gross result or outcome. We have to learn the basics and have a solid foundation first.

The more solid the foundation, the easier it’s going to be to build a house and to have deeper roots so that we can fully express and fully experience.
