Want to get off sugar? Add fiber to your diet slowly? You don’t have time to make your own hummus? Or you just want a snack or appetizer idea. Well, here is one of my favorite combos.
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop of Majestic Sprouted Hummus
- 1 small handful of Lundberg Rice Chips (get the Sea Salt flavor- some other flavors of Lundberg chips have added sugar)
- 2-5 chopped seasonal, organic vegetables (chopping should only take 1-2 minutes)
Warning: Hummus, chips and vegetables may be addicting, especially hummus. Recommendation is to put a serving on a plate or a serving platter.
Trying to lose weight or have a heart problem? Sensitive to salt like I am?
Either take chips out completely or you can also (this might sound weird- but trust me it works) take chips and wash under water for 1-2 seconds to wash off excess salt. Either you can pat dry with paper towel or let them dry for 5 minutes. Also you can get salt free chips- look for chips that are baked. This snack is part of the Harmony Method® phase 1 when you are transitioning gracefully into healthier food options and you have little or no time to eat healthier.
Remember: when you have too much salt you most likely will crave sugar (constriction/ expansion principle of the Harmony Method).
Moms and Dads: want your kids to eat more vegetables? Have a healthy snack after school or at school? Try doing a combination like this where you combine the vegetables with something else.
Also studies show when you grow your own vegetables and children are apart of the seed to plant process they are more likely to eat the vegetables. I am not saying you have to grow every vegetable you eat and you could just start with one that is easy.
Awareness is powerful! It is all about keeping it simple and having fun!
